Eventstream

When face to Face isn't possible

Sometimes it’s not possible for people to be there with you. Sometimes it’s a message that needs to be said over and over again. Livestreaming and recorded video gets over these hurdles, and is the closest people will get to actually being there with you.

Seminars and Breakfasts

It's nearly impossible to get a time when everyone can attend a seminar or breakfast. Livestreaming and recording make it accessible to a wider group of people.

Troubleshooting

Remote troubleshooting is easier when you can see what staff/clients aren't telling you. If they are asking for help, it means they are not sure what to look for

Training

Some things are easier to show than tell, and video saves a lot of confusion and convoluted explanations. Livestreaming can also be used for training remotely in many cases.

FAQ's for clients

Client support is critical, and most prefer video for detailed FAQ responses. A pre-recorded video can also address "obvious mistakes" that clients usually avoid admitting to a real person.

Frequently asked questions

There are two main reasons people livestream an event: to be interactive with the viewers or there is some time sensitivity with the event.

With small groups, the attendees can talk directly with each other, but in larger groups the interaction is mainly through chat windows and/or audience polls. This allows those delivering the event to react and even adjust what they are doing to suit the needs of the attendees.

In some cases, there is information that needs to released to a lot of people simultaneously e.g. a promotional launch so that everyone has equal opportunity to take advantage of it. In other situations, it is important enough that people want to know as soon as it happens so that they are part of the event.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is worth a thousand pictures. In situations where it is easier to show, than tell someone, then a video is definitely worth considering. A video that actively shows how to do something is usually easier to understand than even a series of pictures on the process.

Videos are also better at delivering non-verbal communications, and can make it easier for people to understand the intent, as well as the details. Many emails have been misunderstood because the intent of the writer was not communicated. When people can see facial expressions as well as hear what is said, communication is improved.

That is a “Yes” and “No” answer. Practically anyone with a smart phone or laptop is able to livestream to social media. However phones and laptops are personal devices and become less and less effective the more people are involved in the livestream.

The more involved an event or activity becomes, the more likely that professional equipment and services are required to deliver it effectively.

We work primarily in the informational and educational area. This is a broad field which covers things like:

  • Training
  • Seminars
  • Business Breakfasts
  • FAQ videos
  • Annual Meetings

As a rule of thumb, the primary purpose should be to inform rather than entertain.

3 short videos is the sweet spot balancing economies of scale with a project short enough to be completed quickly and efficiently.  Preparation and setup effort etc. can be shared over the three videos. Preparing content for the 2nd and 3rd videos builds on momentum created in the first, and often there are groups of topics which work well together and are best managed as a group. Also, releasing a group of videos creates a lot more impact with the audience than a single video, particularly if they are related topics.

Most, but not all, business training can be live streamed, meaning you can save on travel time and costs in a lot of situations. Training in practical skills may or may not be suitable candidates depending on how easy it is to teach and test the skill over a computer screen. Training in areas such as new accounting procedures are definitely able to be delivered using live streaming.

The standard answer is no, but it is not clear cut. Our focus is on delivering information, rather than entertainment, and in some situations an information video with a call to action is also a promotional video. This particularly the case if we are booked to cover an event. We can also produce promotional videos for the event depending on the style of video required. So generally the answer is that we don’t do advertising type videos, but there are some promotional videos that we do produce.
